Weddings Fact Sheet

The wedding photographer plays a key role in assisting in the co-ordination of the whole days events, choose your wedding photographer carefully, their photographic skill and style are obviously paramount but so are their interpersonal and organisational skills.

Take time to discuss all your arrangements with the photographer during a consultation prior to booking to ensure you are both on the same wavelength. You can then decide on any special images you wish to ensure are taken to design into your perfect wedding album.

A good wedding photographer will want to assist you as much as possible and help design the perfect wedding for each bride and groom. Ensure you have the opportunity to look at sample albums and a selection of images from previous weddings.

A pre wedding shoot prior to the event will give you and your photographer the opportunity to get to know each other and will develop a relationship of trust. On a more practical note the photographer may discover that the bride may be susceptible to blinking a lot, it is important to know this beforehand.

Hints and Tips

If you are having a two toned fabric for your wedding or bridesmaids dresses it may be wise to have the fabric photographed first to see how it reacts on film and under different lighting conditions. Take into account timings for meals, distance to travel between venues etc.

Consider carefully the timing of your wedding with regards to good light for photographs. Remember the hour change if booking a winter wedding, the vision of a candlelit wedding is very romantic, but in reality very difficult to photograph.
